Lester Donald Earnest (1930 - present) - Les brought us some of the most stunningly under-rated innovations in geek history: the first spell checker, the first computer-controlled vending machine, and the fabulous FINGER protocol to name but a few! Perhaps overshadowing his computer related accomplishments, Les is also an avid cyclist, serving on the selection committee of the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame, as executive director of the Federation of Independent Associations for Cycling, and as one time director of both the U.S. Cycling Federation and USA Cycling.
